Wassily Kandinsky, a veteran Russian painter who is well-known for his avant-garde art style. He is considered as one of the creative minds behind the evolution of abstraction in art history by early 20th century. In addition to painting he had a great music composing sense. In fact many has claimed that his art portrays the colours in line with musician’s touch.
Wassily Kandinsky was born on 16th December 1866 (as per Gregorian calendar) at Moscow. His parents were Lidia Ticheeva and Vasily Silvestrovich Kandinsky. Soon after his parents got divorced, Wassily Kandinsky started living with her aunt by staying at her home in Odessa. He went to study piano and then cello at a grammar school. He also underwent a drawing course at Odessa. By 1892, he married Anna, his cousin and then functioned as a full time law faculty in Moscow with art printing job as a part time profession.
He attended an art exhibition at Moscow and the main concept of that exhibit is to showcase French art impressionism. He got very much influenced by seeing the “Haystacks at Giverny” painting crafted by Claude Monet. He then came across Wagner’s Lohengrin painting and got so admired by the painting style. Both of these incidents had made him to leave his profession as law faculty and he moved over to Munich in order to establish himself as a full time artist. At Munich, he joined a famous private art school, Munich Academy of Arts. Through his dedicated effort, he quickly materialized as an esteemed front-runner in abstraction art and finally passed away during 13th December 1944.
