A: Our reproduction process is done entirely by hand by our professional and talented artists. Our artists have perfected their expertise through years of study and paintings. Q: Can I see the actual brush strokes?
A: Yes. Our paintings are actual 100% hand-painted oil on canvas. You can see, touch and feel the actual brush strokes on each and every one of our painting. Note: Our paintings are NOT print on canvas, NOT print transfer, NOT lithographs and NOT prints.

A: You can pay for your painting with a credit card, PayPal, or money order. For large orders, we'll accept a bank wire. We accept payments through our secured payment page, by phone or by fax.

A: You're purchasing the portrait and everything that goes into it along with our costs to ship it to you. All costs such as insurance and fees are included and you won't be asked to pay anything else.

Q: Can I see the painting before you ship it?
A: Of course. If requested by you during checkout, we will email you a digital photograph of the painting. You can look at the image and ask for revisions or approve the image for shipping.

Q: Do I pay upfront for the painting or when I receive it?
A: You pay when you place your order with us. Before we begin working on your painting, we need to know that you have the means to pay for it. All online transactions work this way, and keep in mind that all paintings ordered from 1st Art Gallery are backed by our 100% money back guarantee.

Q: How do I return a painting?
A: It is compulsory to contact us before returning a painting and await exact return instructions. Our actual shipping cost will be deducted from the refund. Returned merchandise must be wrapped & packed in the original tube and send to the address of origin. Merchandise must be returned as instructed. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a penalty of up to $75.00 per painting.

Q: What kind of guarantee do you offer?
A: Yes, in fact we offer many. The first guarantee happens when, if requested by you during checkout, we email you a photo of your painting. Our guarantee is that we'll revise this painting until it meets your expectations. Our second guarantee is when you receive the painting; you are free to return it for more revisions or else for a full refund minus our actual shipping cost Please note that portraits cannot be returned if they have been approved by the customer prior to their dispatch. Q: How long will it take for my painting to arrive?
A: If a painting is in stock we will ship it immediately. If not, we will start work immediately after receiving your order and verified payment. We can often have your painting delivered to you in about 21 days or more depending on the level of complexity of the piece. Add 5 days to delivery times for holiday seasons. We take time to make sure you receive the absolute best.

Q: Does your price include stretcher and frame?
A: No. The painting is unstretched, rolled and inserted in an extremely sturdy tube which is sealed, packaged, and delivered to your door by the courier.

Q: Why do you sell the paintings unframed?
A: We let the customer choose the frame to match their decoration. Most of the time, the painting can be framed at local frame shop for a lower price than buying paintings that are framed. The flexibility is yours. We have a selection of frames on the website that you can choose from that will be stretched and framed.

Q: How are your paintings different from posters, prints and transfers?
A: At GFM painting design, we do not utilize any computer-aided or printing process. As a result our reproduction revealed a much deeper tonal range, texture and shapes of the mediums used on the original painting.
Please note: Our paintings are not prints, not paint on prints, not image to canvas transfers, or any other printing and transfer processes. Our reproduction is not "Brushstroke Enhanced", "Hand Embellished", "Oil on Canvas Enhancement", etc... It is reproduced by real artist on a blank canvas. Everything is real, down to the scent of the wet oil.

Q: Do you measure your paintings in inches or centimeters?
A: We state the dimension of our paintings in both inches and centimeters. However, we can reproduce any painting in any size that you requested.

Q: Can you reproduce a painting that is not on the web site?
A: Yes. Our artist can recreate and reproduce any painting of your choice to your exact specification. We have successfully reproduced portraits and artwork from photos. The prices for custom reproduction will be priced and quote according to size and complexity of the subject.

A: The paintings are covered by a piece of thin film and are rolled into a hard cardboard tube and then it will be very safe to send to your address by express.

Q: Why do i need to be a registered member?
A: It is not required that you should be a member so that you can make an order! But being a registered member, you can build a picture house to stock your favourite pictures, you can build your address or phone book, and you can track your order and get informed the procedure of your paintings.

A: Of course! we will work on the paintings according to the customer's request! Some of our customers always like to put their own head picture onto the people in some famous works. Such as in the picture of Monalisa.

Q: Can I get back my payment if I am not satisfied with the painting?
A: Yes, you can get back your payment if you are not satisfy your painting. Please remember our two guarantees: The first guarantee happens when, if requested by you during checkout, we email you a photo of your painting before we ship it. Our guarantee is that we will revise this painting until it meets your expectations. Our second guarantee is a 10 days refund guarantee (Not include the stock paintings). Q: Will their be any import duty or taxes on my painting?
A: NO import duty on hand painted items according to Customs & Excise VAT:SS

1) "Paintings, drawings, and pastels, executed entirely by hand ... framed or not framed" (Heading 9701 & Subheading 9701.10.00);

2) "Original engravings, prints and lithographs, framed or not framed" (Subheading 9702.00.00); & "Original sculptures and statuary, in any material" (Subheading 9703.00.00).

Q: Do you sell paintings or prints?
A: We only sell 100% handmade oil paintings, hand painted by experienced artists. These are oil on canvas genuine masterpieces and each stroke, texture and nuance is created by hand - in the same way the original paintings were created. We use no printing, pressing or technological tricks to create our paintings.

Q: Will your artist sign the painting?
A: Yes - by default our paintings are signed by the artist. However, if you like, you can request us not to sign it.

Q: Are your reproductions copyrighted works?
A: Every painting in our gallery is either in the public domain or being sold under license from the estate of the artist. There's no need to worry about copyright infringement. If you find on our database a work of art which you suspect as being unlicensed, please notify us immediately.

Q: Can I purchase original art from you as well?
A: We hope to add more original pieces to our collection, but we can create original paintings from your photographs.

Q: How long before I receive the painting?
A: Between four and five weeks. Since painting with oil on canvas is a complicated, time-consuming process, our artists will spend between 20-25 business days creating your masterpiece. If your painting is much larger, or if is extremely complex, the artist spend a bit more time with it. After you've approved the painting, we'll ship it to you immediately. Shipping can take three to four days. When you order your painting, we'll send you a detailed timeline that shows when you'll see a sample and when you'll receive your painting.

Q: What's the biggest size I can order?
A: As you'll see on our order form, our largest paintings are 120 inches by 120 Inches (3 meters by 3 meters). However, if you have a special request, our artists can work on even much larger canvases - there is no limit.

Q: Most of your sizes are similar height: width ratios. Can I order something different?
A: Yes. You can request paintings in any size you want. Some customers like to follow the painting's original aspect ratio, keeping the original relation between the painting's length and width. If the size you need does not match the painting's original aspect ratio our experienced artists will extend or reduce some of the painting's background to achieve the best possible result. We can also reproduce detail paintings of a larger original, e.g. Mona Lisa's smile, or a part of the Sistine Chapel. Our artists are very flexible and there is not limit to what they can do. Just let us know what you want.

Q: I have a photograph. Can you paint it?
A: Of course. Every day, we create original pieces from photographs that our customers provide. We produce portraits, recreate wedding photos and even paint beloved family pets. Here is a detailed description of our portrait services.

Q: My original photo is blurry. Can I send more than one photo for detail?
A: Yes, we have experience adding detail to a painting from multiple photographs. Perhaps it's detail for a family crest, the writing on a sweatshirt or just a hairstyle. Our artists can use the details that you provide to make your painting capture even more details than the original photograph did.

Q: Can you add colour to a black and white photograph?
A: Yes. That's a frequent request from our customers. We can paint color portraits from old black and white photos or damaged photos and can even provide some color correction.

Q: Can you create a new oil painting from a bunch of different photos?
A: Definitely. It's called a composite painting. Since our artists start from scratch there is no limit to what they can add to or subtract from the original photos. An example could be a family portrait with an additional person, a different background or a photograph painted in the style of a particular artist. As far as composites go, the only limit is your imagination.

Q: It's free even to me? I live in _____.
A: Yes, even there. The shipping charges are added to your cart to any location in the world that FedEx, UPS or DHL will deliver to.

Q: What if my painting is damaged during shipping?
A: In the very rare case that your painting or frame arrives damaged, please refuse the delivery so we can receive the package back from the shipping company and claim the insurance funds. We will then paint a new painting for you and will ship it to you within 10 days. This extremely rare circumstance does not constitute a reason for a refund as the damage is the responsibility of the shipping company and as we will paint for you a new painting for absolutely free.

Q: What do I pay for shipping?
A: For normal orders, shipping is free to anywhere in the world. If you are a wholesale customer, we have some different options if you wish to buy in bulk.

Q: Since shipping is free, does that cover customs or taxes?
A: As with most purchases, paying any local customs or taxes is the customer's responsibility. However, it has been our experience that 99.5% of the paintings arrive untaxed.

Q: Can I send a painting of my dad made to be reproduced?
